Those running for local school board or state legislative races can attend a workshop in Macon on Monday to brush up on their knowledge of education policy.
The Atlanta-based Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education is hosting a forum from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Monday at Central Georgia Technical College in Building B.
The session starts with a presentation on the economics of education, what an education system means to a community and is followed by sessions about budget issues, testing standards, teacher quality and other key topics.
So far, at least 20 candidates running for local government races have registered, officials with the Georgia Partnership said.
