Five police officers were recognized at a swearing-in ceremony at Fort Valley State University on Sept. 2, according to a university news release.

Derrick Dunson, Timothy Brice and Charles Pines were promoted to the rank of corporal. Brad Justice and Charlie Glover were sworn in, earning their badges after completing an 11-week law enforcement training program.

These five make up part of the team of 14 police officers and 17 security guards at the university. FVSU has increased security on campus in response to higher student enrollment and the expansion of off-campus facilities, according to a news release.
