WARNER ROBINS — Nine applicants for the vacant Post 5 seat on the Houston County Board of Education have been invited to address the board at Monday’s work session.
The seat became open upon the death of former Chairwoman Pamela Greenway in March.
The board will hear from Lisa R. Coody, Randy Hinson, Helen M. Hughes, Shirlyn Johnson-Granville, Tracy H. McCollister, Daniel Murray, James L. (Paul) Shealy, Tim Thomas and T. Rabb Wilkerson on Monday at Perdue Primary School in Warner Robins, according to a news release.
Board Chairman Tom Walmer said finalists will be selected at Tuesday’s board meeting in Perry, and a candidate will be selected at a special called meeting, possibly later this month. Board members earlier set a goal to have the Post 5 seat filled by the time of the June 8 regular meeting.
