This fall, Mercer University is launching a new doctorate program for teachers in curriculum and instruction, according to a university news release.
Mercer’s Tift College of Education created the three-year program to be offered on its Atlanta and Macon campuses to meet the vital need for experienced teachers.
The program is designed for working teachers with at least three years of experience and a master’s level certification.
“We created this program to meet the needs of those societal changes that are placing an ever-increasing emphasis upon the evolving role of the professional educator,” said Margaret Morris, chair of the College of Education’s teacher education programs.
