Macon’s Teen Scene community youth program is hosting an event for Bibb County parents and educators next week to draw more parental involvement within the school system.
Teen Scene and Next Level Community Development Center is hosting an “ABC 123, Back to Basics: Linking parents and educators” session from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m., April 16 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, 108 First St., Macon.
The community empowerment session is aimed at increasing parental involvement, empowering parents to hold the Bibb County school system accountable, support school officials and bring the two entities together for advancing children. Marcia Tate will be a keynote speaker.
Tate is the former executive director of professional development for the DeKalb County school system. She is an educational consultant and author of five best-selling books on education.
