Macon school locked down following robbery

Monday afternoon Hutchings Career Center went into a code yellow, not letting anyone enter or exit the school, as a result of a robbery suspect in the area.

According to David Gowan, director of risk management for the school system, the high school locked its doors from 1 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. as a safety precaution.

Macon Police Department officials reported a robbery at Actel on Riverside Drive at 1 p.m. Monday.“It’s our protocol anytime we’re notified of a robbery,” he said.
