Tattnall Square Academy students show well in math competition

Tattnall Square Academy students captured the team and individual championships (GISA AAA division) at the Georgia Southwestern Math Tournament this past weekend.

According to a school news release, the team of juniors were Logan Easterwood, Jessi Thompson, Tyler Heath, Mary Catherine Sikes, Nathan Duffield, and Rebecca Hutchinson, and freshman Taylor Holloway. Easterwood, Jackson, Holloway and Sikes comprised the top four math scores for Tattnall.

Individually, Easterwood claimed first place among all GISA participants with Jackson finishing third.

“The results that we are having across the state ... justify the existence of our problem solving classes,” said TSA math teacher Carolyn Smothers. “It is my desire that TSA be known throughout the community and the state as the math school.”
