The dogs next door had been barking for hours. After she put up with it for most of the afternoon on March 5, a southwest Macon woman called the police. The woman, who is 72 and lives on Lindsey Drive off Bloomfield Drive near Rice Elementary School, tried to talk to her neighbor about the noise. Another neighbor, an 85-year-old woman, told a Bibb County sheriff’s deputy that the dogs' owners were, according to the deputy’s write-up, “smoking marijuana under their carport near her bedroom window and having sex.” When the first woman went to speak to the dogs’ owners about the nonstop barking, she was cussed at and told to “go to hell because that’s what dogs do.” When a deputy tried to talk to the owners they refused to answer their door.
