There was something curious about the shoplifting suspect who told the cops he was in the film business. The alleged thief, a 41-year-old from McDonough, was caught Aug. 18 at the Academy Sports store on Eisenhower Parkway in Macon. According to a Bibb County sheriff’s report, the man tried to steal nearly $400 in merchandise, including a radar detector, gloves, a flashlight and $16 worth of Atlanta Falcons decals. What was odd, though, was that the alleged culprit was carrying a manila envelope with $4,100 cash in it. The suspect, who according to his online profile works as a motion picture grip, was jailed on a theft charge.
