Dispatches: A woman in a checkout line at the Pet Supermarket on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard in north Macon recently reached down to let another woman’s dog sniff her hand. The two women had been chatting. When one of the women reached down, she said the dog sniffed her hand for a second or two, and then, as a Bibb County sheriff’s report later noted, “without any warning bit her on her right hand.” The bitten woman was bandaged. The breed of dog was not noted in the write-up, but its owner said it had “never shown any signs of aggression before.” The bitten woman said “she wishes no ill will” toward the dog or its owner, who according to the report, “does feel horrible” about the incident and was considering paying the bitten woman’s medical bills. . . . Someone who lives in an apartment on Northside Drive in Macon reported a theft on Nov. 3 and said $3,000 was missing from her piggy banks. . . . Overheard on Bibb sheriff’s radio the morning of Nov. 20, a dispatcher telling a patrol officer, “The female is hitting the male’s car with a cinder block.”
