A woman was found shot dead in a vehicle Thursday afternoon in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the victim around 4 p.m. in the 2100 block of Adams Avenue, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

A 911 call reported that a person had been shot minutes prior, according to the release.

Paramedics responded, but Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones pronounced the woman dead at the scene, deputies said.

She was identified as India Norwood Davis, 41, Jones told The Telegraph.

The shooting was being investigated and the sheriff’s office didn’t immediately release other details.

It was one of two shootings Thursday.

Another shooting left a 13-year-old injured around 12 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. It appeared he had shot himself, and deputies were still investigating what happened.
