Bibb deputies investigating shooting in Macon’s Unionville

A 30-year-old Macon man was shot late Sunday in Unionville.

Jeremy Sears was wounded in his right side, right forearm and right thigh just before 11:30 p.m. near the corner of Cedar and Moseley avenues, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

“He took three shots. He’s fortunate it didn’t kill him,” said Lt. Randy Gonzalez, public information officer for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Sears was behind a duplex with several other people when he was shot, but no other details were immediately available and deputies were not given any information about the suspect, Gonzalez said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
