Deputies seek man for questioning in June murder case

Bibb County deputies need help locating a person for questioning in the June 11 murder of 19-year-old Andrew Marquez Sims.

Deputies want to speak with 23-year-old Jerel Rashod Holland, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Sims was fatally shot in the chest and arm in the 3400 block of Majestic Court just before 11 p.m., according to the release.

Two other men and a teenager were taken to a local hospital to have gunshot wounds treated.

The teenager -- 16-year-old Marc Anderson -- has been charged with murder in the case. He was denied bond at a court hearing last month.

Another man was treated after being run over by a car involved in the same incident, according to the release.

Anyone with information about Holland’s whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Carlos Stokes at 447-2550, the sheriff’s office at 751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
