A man looking at a house dodged gunfire as his car was stolen Wednesday evening.
The 51-year-old man heard someone yelling that the man's 2008 Ford Escape was being stolen near the corner of Woodard and Moseley avenues just after 5 p.m., according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The man ran to the car where an unidentified guy with a large build used the keys in the ignition and tried to drive away from the Unionville neighborhood.
The car owner jumped in the gray Escape, when a second man tried to pull the owner out of the vehicle.

After seeing the car thief had a gun, the owner jumped out and the driver fired several shots as he drove away and the second man ran off.
The Escape owner was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries to his hand and leg.
The SUV was found a couple of blocks away just after 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Patton Avenue.
Anyone with information about the thief is urged to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
The sheriff's office urges everyone to take their keys with them, lock the vehicle and do not confront a thief, but get as good a description as possible and the direction of travel while calling 911.
