Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the Thursday morning shooting of a woman as she walked in the 200 block of Lilly Avenue.

Nekita Rhodes, 27, was walking with another female just before 6 a.m. when a man rode up to her on a bicycle and shot her in the leg, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Rhodes was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and was listed in stable condition later Thursday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

The alleged shooter is described as being black, having black hair and wearing a white shirt with camouflage shorts.
