A masked man threatened a Macon woman with a knife, strangled, raped and sodomized her at about 4:30 a.m. last fall.
Evidence collected in a sexual assault kit was sent to the GBI for processing which revealed a match with a former state inmate, 39-year-old Michael Jewel Glenn, according to an arrest warrant released Thursday.
Glenn was arrested Wednesday on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and burglary in connection with the Sept. 26, 2014, incident.
He is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records.
The warrant alleges a Courtland Avenue woman was attacked in her home by a man who wore a hat and a bandana covering his face.
He entered the house without the woman’s permission and threatened to kill her, according to the warrant.
After authorities received news of the DNA match identifying the alleged attacker, they contacted the woman. She said she didn’t know Glenn and has never had consensual sex with him, according to the warrant.
Glenn, who lives about a mile away from the alleged crime scene on Radio Drive, has served two state prison sentences from 1995 to 1997 and 1998 to 2005 on charges of robbery, burglary and theft by receiving stolen property, according to Georgia Department of Corrections records.
