Gunman robs Macon doctor of his pants and briefcase

A robber pointed a gun at a Macon doctor Monday, forcing him to give up his briefcase and his pants.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that an unidentified black male wearing a gray hoodie walked into Harmony Medical Services at 611 Monroe St. about 1:30 p.m. and asked to talk to the doctor.

After being taken to the doctor, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded the doctor’s briefcase and pants, which contained his wallet, identification and an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.

The suspect left the office and fled on foot. The doctor was not named in the news release.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a message with the on-call investigators. Tipsters also may call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
