A driver who allegedly ran a stop sign and failed to stop for officers was arrested after wrecking his vehicle in a short chase.
A deputy first encountered the man on Villa Crest Avenue shortly before 11 a.m., said Lt. Randy Gonzalez, public information officer for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, 21-year-old Shawn Jeremiah Robinson, was arrested in the 1100 block of Triple Hill Drive after he pulled his 1994 Honda Accord behind an abandoned apartment complex.
He also hit a vehicle near Rocky Creek Road and Houston Avenue, with no serious injuries reported, and he attempted to strike a Bibb County sheriff’s patrol car, Gonzalez said.
Robinson was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, aggressive driving and a probation violation on an unrelated charge. He is currently in the Bibb County jail with bond set at $3,600.
