Hospitalized Macon man dies nearly a week after shooting

The shooting victim of a Macon domestic dispute died early Sunday, nearly a week after he was shot.

Jerald Corbin, 49, was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday at Medical Center, Navicent Health, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Charges against his girlfriend, Lisa Michelle Mack, 42. could be upgraded from aggravated assault to murder, depending on the circumstances surrounding Corbin’s death.

Bibb sheriff’s deputies reported an argument over another woman led to the violent domestic dispute where Corbin was shot in the shoulder May 25.

Mack was originally charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the release stated.

Corbin had been in stable condition after the shooting and was expected to be released from the hospital, Jones said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, he said.
