Shots fired near Bibb grocery, movie theater on Zebulon Road

A fight led to gunfire late Wednesday night in a Zebulon Road shopping center parking lot.

Bibb County deputies are looking for a light blue Mazda 3 involved in the shooting just after 10 p.m.

According to a Bibb sheriff’s news release, a fight started with a group of men walking through the alley between Kroger and the Am-Star Movie Theatre.

Up to 15 young men were involved in the brawl when a black woman drove by in the Mazda as someone fired five to six shots into the air from the rear passenger window.

No one was hit by gunfire.

Just before midnight, Bibb deputies went to the Quick-Med at 5925 Zebulon Road where four young men said they were jumped on in the parking lot by 11 others.

The men said the fight started when one of the 11 males lifted his shirt to show a gun before they followed them into the alley and jumped on them.

Anyone with information is asked to leave a message for a Bibb sheriff’s investigator at 751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
