Warrants issued in Macon shooting, deputies ask for help ID’ing second suspect

Arrest warrants have been issued for a 34-year-old man wanted in a Monday morning shooting on Macon’s Goodwin Drive.

Bibb County deputies need help locating Verconus Geona Redding, who also is known by the nickname “Head,” according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Redding is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and home invasion, according to the release.

Investigators also are trying to identify a second suspect, described as being an 18- to 20-year-old black man of slim build, wearing black pants and a black shirt, according to the release.

Zatarian Fowler, 18, of Macon was visiting 44-year-old Steven Jones about 10:30 a.m. Monday when Fowler answered the door. Two men were there. One of the men fired a gun into the house, striking Jones once in the hand and Fowler in the shoulder, according to the sheriff’s office.
