Macon man indicted in Waffle House armed robbery

A 28-year-old Macon man was indicted Tuesday in the Jan. 30 robbery at a Bibb County Waffle House.

Ricarlos Santrell Butler, of Plantation Way, is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and false imprisonment, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.

Butler allegedly used a BB gun to force a waitress at the restaurant at 6220 Zebulon Rd. to open the cash register.

An employee later ran to an off-duty deputy at a nearby McDonald's and gave him a description of the assailant. The deputy then saw a man fitting the suspect's description go into a Circle K across the street from the Waffle House. When the man came out of the convenience store, he was arrested.

Butler was released from jail April 2 on $55,200 bond, according to jail records.
