Report: Woman struck in head with vodka bottle in Lizella

A woman says a guy named “Booger” struck her in the head with a vodka bottle Saturday.

Authorities were called to the 4500 block of Rogers Road in Lizella just before 5 p.m. in response to a woman lying on the ground.

Chad Turner, 27, of Macon, was driving down the road when he saw a white Jeep with the hood up, according to a report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. There was a woman lying on the side of the vehicle, and a man asked Turner if he could take him home.

Turner got out of his vehicle to check on the woman, who was bleeding from the head and crying. The man had blood on his hands and was holding a half empty Taaka vodka bottle that had blood on it, the report stated.

The man told Turner the woman was “getting crazy and he whooped her,” according to the report. Turner left to get a friend and called 911.

Before a deputy arrived, Turner returned. The man was gone, and the woman, later identified as 50-year-old Diane Herbert of Lizella, was still on the ground. She told the deputy “that ‘Booger’ had done this to her.”

Herbert was taken to a local hospital, and the Jeep was towed.
