The death of a 2-year-old Soperton boy, originally reported to have accidentally drowned, has now been ruled a homicide.
Aerick McManus was unresponsive on Barwick Avenue about 9:45 a.m. Thursday when a call came into Treutlen County 911, according to a GBI news release.

The boy’s mother, Porshia Johnson, 22, and her boyfriend Travis Jordan, 21, were arrested Sunday.
Jordan is charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and cruelty to children, the release stated.
Johnson is charged with felony murder and cruelty to children.
