Bibb deputies to hold “Consider the Consequences” jail tours for youngsters
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is set to hold its first “Consider the Consequences” program Friday morning for students aged 9 to 16.
The early intervention program includes a jail tour that allows participants to see consequences of being involved in a crime, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Although the program isn’t a “scared straight” activity, “it can be frightening,” according to the release.
The program is designed to help encourage positive behavior, provide tools to achieve goals and be a resource for parents.
The program will be held monthly, each time on a Friday.
Friday’s tour already is full. For more information or to register for next month’s tour, call the sheriff’s office’s Outreach Section at 478-447-2326.
