Milledgeville police seek carjacking suspect

Milledgeville police are looking for a man suspected of carjacking a vehicle and other crimes.

Christopher Jessie “CJ” Brown, 26, is accused of flagging down a driver with a handgun about 8 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of South Warren Street and demanding the vehicle, according to a Monday police news release.

The driver was forced into the passenger side as the man demanded his phone. The driver escaped unharmed, the release stated. The vehicle was later recovered in the 100 block of Stembridge Road, but Brown was not found.

Minutes earlier, police said, Brown was at the Shrimp Boat on South Elbert Street, where he allegedly stuck a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill himself after a female friend working at the restaurant refused to give him her vehicle.

Warrants charge Brown with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and hijacking a motor vehicle, according to the release.

In addition, Brown is accused of pulling a gun on a Jiffy Lube employee April 24 after seeing his ex-girlfriend at the location. He also allegedly threatened to use another firearm that was inside his vehicle. Brown fled before police arrived, the release states.

He is charged with terroristic threats and acts and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in that incident.

Anyone with information about Brown’s whereabouts is asked to call Milledgeville police immediately at 478-414-4000. Brown is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
