Man sentenced to second federal prison stint for possessing child pornography

A 41-year-old former Cordele resident was sentenced Thursday to serve 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography, followed by 15 years on supervised release.

Christopher B. Wilcox was on supervised release from a previous federal child pornography possession conviction when a search of his computer yielded evidence he had child pornography, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release.

Wilcox pleaded guilty in his current case on Dec. 15, 2014.

He was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison in 2003 for child pornography and had been convicted in Crisp County Superior Court of aggravated child abuse in 2005, according to the release.
