Candy man injured in Macon armed robbery

A man who sells candy from his house was the victim of an armed robbery Sunday night.

About 6 p.m., William Kelso heard a knock at the door of his Winship Street home and invited in three young men, whom he thought were there to buy candy, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Once inside, two of the three pulled guns and demanded money from the 68-year-old.

One of the gunman hit Kelso in the head. They took an undisclosed amount of cash and got away. Kelso was treated Sunday night and released from Coliseum Northside Hospital.

No description of the robbers was available.
