Authorities on Friday released the name of a 17-year-old killed in a Crawford County home Thursday.
The shooting death of Malcom Malik Bentley is being investigated by the GBI and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call at a house on Springhill Church Road shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, deputies found Bentley, who had been shot.
The Knoxville native was taken to a local hospital by Mid-Georgia Ambulance, where he later was pronounced dead. His body was sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy Thursday, Sheriff Lewis Walker said. When asked how many shots were fired, Walker declined to say.

“Right now, we’re waiting on (the autopsy) and still doing some (investigating),” Walker said.
There are no suspects at this time, Walker said, but “the biggest thing is trying to stay with what we got and kind of see what that’s going to give us. It’s still an ongoing investigation.”
Whether the death was the result of a homicide or an accident has yet to be determined.
