Someone made off with two chain saws from a Bibb County Law Enforcement Center building on Hazel Street over the weekend.
Between 5 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at the G Wing at 652 Hazel St., padlocks were cut off the laundry room and closet where the chain saws were stored, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
The deputy investigating the burglary noted authorities could not initially determine how the thief got into the building, which is surrounded by a tall chain link fence about a block from the main jail.
The estimated value of the stolen chain saws was $600, the report stated.
