A Cochran man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday in the death of a 33-year-old Atlanta man found dead by the side of a Dodge County road.
Magic Fuller pleaded guilty to murder in the June 10, 2013, shooting death of Dazmon Sanders. Another Cochran man, Printess Stanley, pleaded guilty in August to armed robbery and was sentenced to 20 years, said Tim Vaughn, Oconee Circuit District Attorney.
Vaughn said the three men left the Hawkinsville Veterans of Foreign Wars post and traveled to Cochran. At some point, while riding in a rental car leased by Sanders’ sister, Sanders was robbed and shot.
Fuller and Stanley each claim the other man shot Sanders, Vaughn said.
The men dumped Sanders’ body on the side of Cook Road in Dodge County and then burned the rental car, he said.
