Macon restaurant robbed early Friday

At about 6 a.m. Friday, two men held up the Steak ‘n Shake at 3420 Mercer University Drive.

One of the men had a gun as they demanded money from the cash register, took the cash and got away, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies spread out across the entrance to the parking lot of Macon Mall looking for a trace of the suspects described as two black males with short hair, slim builds and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. They were both wearing gloves and black T-shirts, but one had khaki pants, and the other was wearing camouflage trousers.

The employees were not hurt and were sitting on the curb in front of the business that was temporarily closed for the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
