Police investigating the Sunday night stabbing of a Macon teen are getting conflicting accounts of the incident.
At about 10 p.m. Sunday, officers from police Precinct 4 went to 2556 Robin Hood Court in response to a call about a person being cut. They found 19-year-old Jequavion Devonte Jordan, who had a non life-threatening stab wound in his left leg, according to a release from police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet.
Jordan told police he was walking when “an unknown number of black males dressed in all black jumped out of the bushes and cut him,” the release said. Jordan was taken by ambulance to the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Officers also were dispatched to Blair Court where they interviewed 18-year-old Devontie Williams and his brother, Shawn Williams. Devontie Williams told police that Jequavion Devonte Jordan, the man stabbed in the Robin Hood Road incident, had come to 4050 Blair Court with several “unknown black males” and challenged the brothers to fight, the release said.
Devontie Williams said that when the group dragged Shawn Williams to the street, he stabbed Jordan in the leg to protect his brother, the release said.
Police ask that anyone with information on the stabbing call 751-7500 or call Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
