The man accused of robbing the Rocky Creek Food Store on Rocky Creek Road on Monday night has been arrested by authorities who found him on a Greyhound bus headed to West Palm Beach, Fla.
Rodney Demond Jackson, 22, is charged with taking a small amount of cash from the store’s register about 9:30 p.m., according to Macon police.
After police identified Jackson as the man wearing all black and a green knit cap from the store’s surveillance video, they learned he was on the bus, according to a police news release.
U.S. Marshals and Tifton police followed the bus on Interstate 75 as it approached Tifton and arrested Jackson when the bus arrived at its scheduled stop at 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Jackson, of Macon, is charged with robbery by sudden snatching and a State Court probation violation, according to police.
