A 21-year-old Macon man was shot in the chest just before 11 a.m. Wednesday during an argument outside Family Dollar, 3279 Jeffersonville Road, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses told deputies that Tavares Williams and another man were arguing when the second man pulled a gun and shot Williams. A friend drove Williams to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Wednesday, according to a news release.
The shooter is described as 6 foot 2 inches tall, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. The man wore a dreadlock-type hairstyle and was last seen driving a black Honda Accord with tinted windows, according to the release.
Investigators are talking with witnesses and reviewing security footage in an attempt to identify the assailant.
Deputies also are trying to determine if the shooting is related to a shooting in the 3300 block of East Royal Court on Saturday, according to the release.
