A 17-year-old was injured in a police chase and faces multiple charges related to the incident, according to the Macon Police Department.
Officers watched a green 1994 Honda Accord run a red light at Clisby Place and Roff Avenue, then saw the driver wave a pistol out the window and accelerate into the parking lot of Virginia College at 1901 Eisenhower Parkway about 7:15 p.m. Friday, according to Public Information Officer Jami Gaudet.
The car, which was reported stolen in Warner Robins, jumped the curb and stopped in bushes.
The passenger escaped on foot, while the 17-year-old driver ran in front of the pursuing patrol car and was struck. He was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Officers recovered the gun and a small amount of marijuana. The driver had three pending felony theft charges and one active warrant for entering a car, police said.
