Man pleads guilty in rape of 14-year-old Macon girl

A 50-year-old Decatur man was sentenced Monday to serve five years in prison in connection with the December 2008 rape of a 14-year-old Macon girl.

Willie J. Pitts pleaded guilty in Bibb County Superior Court to two counts of statutory rape. He also must serve 15 years on probation, said prosecutor Nancy Scott Malcor.

Pitts and 19-year-old Zebulon Neriah Hawkins of Macon were indicted in October in connection with the Dec. 19, 2008, incident at an abandoned house on Hortman Avenue. Hawkins’ case still is pending, according to court records.
