A public advisory was issued Monday by police about law enforcement training exercises this week in Warner Robins.
In partnership with the Georgia Tactical Officer’s Association, Warner Robins police are hosting a sniper operations class Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, according to a Warner Robins police news release.
Tuesday, officers will be training at the Warner Robins Police Department Training Center at 212 Stalnaker Drive. Wednesday, training will be held in an undeveloped section of the Foy Evans Industrial Park resulting in a road closure, the release stated.
Foy Evans Drive just south of the LaFarge Concrete entrance and all of Continental Drive will be closed during the exercise as a safety precaution, according to the release. Roadway signs and barricades are expected to be in place to block the area until the exercise is completed.
Residents and businesses located near the training exercises are not expected to be affected, said Tabitha Pugh, public information officer for Warner Robins police. But people may hear lots of gunfire from the use of weapons or may see officers in camouflage as well as police vehicles, Pugh said.
