Burglars hit two Macon drug stores

Thieves broke into two drug stores early Wednesday morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m. the burglar alarm sounded at Chi-ches-ter’s at 3051 Vineville Ave. where police found the front door had been forced open, according to a police report.

Money in the store was left untouched, but some pills are thought to have been stolen although a full inventory had not been completed before the report was filed. A little more than an hour later, someone broke into the drive-through window of the Rite Aid at 892 Pierce Ave., where officers found boxes of Sudafed on the floor but could not immediately determine how much was taken, the report stated.
