A Tennessee man accused of kidnapping a north Georgia woman and her three children was apprehended in Monroe County on Tuesday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
After breaking down the door of a duplex in East Ridge, Tenn., 23-year-old Modesto Juan Francisco held the Rossville, Ga., woman and her children at knifepoint and forced them into his car, according to a news release.
Tennessee law enforcement issued a lookout for Francisco’s green Honda.
At some point, a Tennessee 911 dispatcher was able to talk with Francisco by phone and calm him down. Francisco pulled into the Days Inn parking lot in Forsyth and was arrested by Monroe County deputies without incident, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
It is unknown whether Francisco knew the woman and children, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The duplex belonged to a friend of the woman.
Francisco will be charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated burglary. He is being held at the Monroe County jail.
