Accused Sparta kidnapper dies of gunshot wound

A Sparta man accused of kidnapping his estranged wife has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Charlie Sterling Hall Jr., 41, was pronounced dead at The Medical Center of Central Georgia at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.

Milledgeville police say Hall pulled a gun on 34-year-old Katillya Warren-Hall when she drove up to work at Renal Advantage Inc. about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Hall took Warren-Hall from the dialysis center on North Columbia Street and drove her to Wall Cemetery on Jones Chapel Road in Hancock County where he shot himself in the head, Milledgeville police Capt. Dray Swicord said.

Family members told investigators the couple’s marriage ended last fall and that they had been living apart.
