Bibb County deputies discovered a methamphetamine lab in a bathroom at Baymont Inn and Suites, 150 Plantation Inn Drive, early Sunday after hotel management complained of smoke and a chemical smell coming from a guest room at about 1:15 a.m.
The bathroom was damaged by a fire from the methamphetamine lab. Investigators notified the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and Summit Environmental to clean out the toxic material, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Investigators also recovered remains of the finished methamphetamine product and Xanax in the hotel room, according to the release.The room was registered to 32-year-old Gregory Shawn Hall of Bibb County, but Hall was not in the room when deputies arrived. Investigators are issuing warrants for his arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.
