An arraignment for a Warner Robins councilman indicted by a Houston County grand jury on one count of false statements and writings is scheduled for Feb. 23.
The arraignment had been on the Houston County Superior Court calendar for Wednesday but was continued because of a scheduling conflict.
Councilman John Williams is accused of making false statements to Warner Robins police officers in connection with reporting his city-issued cell phone stolen.
Charles E. Cox Jr., a Macon attorney representing Williams, said Wednesday that a not-guilty plea will be entered at the arraignment.
LaShonda Harris, an assistant district attorney for the Dublin Judicial Circuit, was assigned to the case after the Houston County District Attorney’s Office requested a special prosecutor.
