Firearm, drug charges in north Bibb

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office drug investigators arrested two people Thursday night after obtaining information that someone was suspected of dealing drugs from a residence on Springdale Court, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators served a search warrant at the house off Northside Drive and seized 2½ pounds of marijuana, $1,480 in cash and a 9mm pistol. The drugs have a street value of $12,000, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Anthony Wilcher Jr., 26, and Jacqueline Michelle Gossett, 28, are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Wilcher is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a parole violation, according to the release.

Gossett was released from the Bibb County jail Friday on $20,950 bond. Wilcher is being held without bond, according to the release.
