Shots fired at men inside car at WR parking lot

Shots were fired at an occupied car parked at the Sunoco convenience store and gas station at 2216 Watson Blvd. on Tuesday night, a sheriff’s investigator said.

Benjamin Jackson, 25, of Kathleen, and Ja’Corey English, 17, of Warner Robins, were not injured in the 8 p.m. incident, said Houston County sheriff’s Lt. Jon Holland.

Authorities are not sure exactly what transpired right before the shooting except that Jackson and English apparently had a dispute with two men who approached them while they were parked in a gold 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, Holland said.

One round struck the right rear passenger door, penetrating the vehicle, Holland said. Authorities think more than one round was fired from a handgun, Holland said. The two suspects took off on foot, he said.

The incident remains under investigation, Holland said.

Anyone with information is asked call Houston County sheriff’s Sgt. Angel Nunez at (478) 542-2085.
