Warrant issued for man who shot Houston drug dog

Bibb County investigators issued a warrant Monday for an Atlanta man accused of shooting a Houston County drug dog Christmas Day.

The warrant was issued for Edward Jackson, of Atlanta, on the accusation that he killed a police dog, a sheriff’s news release said.

According to the release, a drug dog belonging to Houston County sheriff’s deputy Justin Hall got away from him a week earlier.

On Christmas, the dog returned home. Jackson’s parents Hall’s in-laws called Hall to pick up the dog, but before he arrived, Jackson allegedly shot the dog, telling family members he didn’t have time to wait for Hall to return, the release stated.
