An 8-month-old Labrador retriever puppy that was beaten and burned during a Beddingfield Drive burglary is still being treated by a veterinarian, according to the Macon Police Department.
Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet, in an e-mailed statement, said the puppy is being treated for extensive burns and monitored for infection.
On Thursday, police were called to the 700 block of Beddingfield Drive after report of a burglary. Several items were reported taken from the home.
The puppy was found abused and burned, and an animal control officer took it to a vet.
