Same armed robber allegedly hits Macon shoe store 2nd time

Macon police are investigating an armed robbery at a shoe store Saturday that allegedly was robbed by the same man this month.

At 5:40 p.m. at Shoe Show, 2525 Pio Nono Ave., the suspect, pretending to be a customer, approached a counter with a handgun and told the clerk to “give it up,” according to a police news release.

The clerk then gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, and the suspect fled on foot toward the old Wal-Mart.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early to late 30s between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 190 to 200 pounds and wearing dark clothing.

He also robbed the store Dec. 9, a store employee said.

Macon police ask anyone with information about the armed robbery or the suspect to call (478) 751-7500 or CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
