Arrest made in Nov. 4 shooting in Warner Robins, police say

A Columbus man has been charged with aggravated assault in a Nov. 3 shooting in Warner Robins, police said.

Philip Eckerd, 23, also was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to a Warner Robins police news release Thursday.

Eckerd was arrested by officers of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on St. Simon’s Island on Dec. 2, the release said.

Desai Morris, 23, of Byron, and Christopher Wilkinson, 23, of Warner Robins, were shot in a vacant residence in Warner Robins in what police say was a drug-related incident. Officers responded to a 911 call of shots fired in the 100 block of Berkley Circle at 11:37 p.m.

Eckerd was being held without bond Thursday in the Houston County jail.
