Macon police apprehend burglary suspect

Macon police arrested a 36-year-old Stockbridge man early Thursday morning after he allegedly burglarized Topline Spirits, 4915 Bloomfield Road, and exited with a cash drawer in his hands, according to police.

Walter Clarence Flanagan ran but was tackled by a police officer after a foot chase about 4:20 a.m.

The officer had heard an alarm coming from the business and responded to the scene, according to a police news release.

Flanagan scraped his eye and forehead while being apprehended by the officer and was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, according to police.
